- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Automation, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Five (5) + years of experience managing automation or control system upgrade projects, preferably involving Emerson DeltaV platforms.
- Experience working within pharmaceutical, biotech, or other highly regulated (GxP) manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of automation system lifecycle management, including system upgrades, hardware obsolescence remediation, and qualification activities.
- Experience leading DeltaV software and hardware upgrades, including controllers, workstations, servers, and supporting infrastructure.
- Knowledge of GxP, data integrity, cybersecurity requirements, and regulatory compliance impacting control systems.
- Proven experience with:
- Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) assessments.
- Change management and risk management in automation projects.
- Vendor coordination and multi-disciplinary team leadership.
- Project planning, cost/schedule control, and milestone tracking.
- Familiarity with integrated systems interfacing with DeltaV, such as:
- Syncade
- OSIsoft / PI Historian
- Utilities and cogeneration control systems
- Bilingual skills preferred (English required; Spanish a plus).
- Define, manage, and control the scope, objectives, and deliverables of the DeltaV Upgrade Project.
- Lead Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) activities to define execution strategies, identify obsolete hardware, and establish upgrade requirements.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including schedules, milestones, resource loading, and dependencies.
- Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams, including automation engineering, IT, operations, vendors, and corporate resources.
- Lead DeltaV Upgrade Team meetings and ensure alignment with DeltaV Technical Leads and site stakeholders.
- Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate project risks related to schedule, cost, quality, cybersecurity, and manufacturing impact.
- Manage formal change control processes to ensure scope and impact are properly evaluated and approved.
- Coordinate vendor activities and manage performance of external contractors and working groups.
- Monitor project performance against approved baselines (cost, schedule, scope, and resources).
- Ensure all project activities comply with site standards, corporate policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Partner with automation leads to define technical activities and estimate resource requirements.
- Facilitate communication and status reporting to stakeholders, including leadership updates.
- Ensure lessons learned are captured, documented, and communicated across project teams.
- Support project closeout, documentation, system handover, and transition to operations.
