Job TypeFull Time OpportunityGeneral DescriptionConsolidate and analyze financial data (budgets, income statement forecasts etc) taking into account corporate goals.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as back-up for Supervisors or Managers to ensure continuity of the daily work and to lead the team to achieve objectives, activities include:
o review variance explanations for Income Statement and/or Condition Statement accounts prepared by Seniors and/or Accountants
o review processes assigned to accountants eg. Journal entries approval,
o provide guidance in day-to-day activities to accountants and seniors, etc.
o provide limited support to them on certain supervisory responsibilities as needed during vacations, illness absences, special projects assignment,
o redistribute tasks when team member absences
o Main liaison between Management and Senior accountants and/or accountants to address situations, recommendations, changes implementation, etc. In coordination with the department manager, establish project plans to resolve any deviation.
  • Create/develop/prepare and/or review special reports requested by Management, by other business units and/or by corporate comptroller.
  • Participate, lead and support management in the analysis of accounting processes for new initiatives, new products, new processes, changes in accounting policies, business acquisitions, new services and/or changes to existing process. Lead and/or participate in related meetings. Act as the Unit Representative in meetings.
  • Prepare and/or review Notes to Financial Statements
  • Provide support to Senior accountants and accountants in the use of applications and/or systems tools, including their training and coaching.
  • Support management by communicating priorities to team members, details on projects and other, as requested by the supervisor or manager.
  • Participate, lead and support management in the analysis of accounting processes for new initiatives, new products, new processes, changes in accounting policies, business acquisitions, new services and/or changes to existing process. Lead and/or participate in related meetings. Act as the Unit Representative in meetings.
  • Validate the correct accounting procedures are in place based on Popular Accounting Guidelines.
  • Review and update processes to identify efficiencies. Prepare updated Unit procedures
  • Timely communicate situations to the supervisor or manager.
  • Develop strong customer relationships by active participation in meetings with the operations/business/accounting departments. Prepare and distribute meetings minutes and action plans.
  • Lead and participate in visits to operational/business/accounting departments as internal training to obtain a better understanding of their processes and how they are related to our processes.
  • All other task assigned by the management.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.EducationBachelor's Degree in AccountingExperienceAt least four years of experience working in AccountingOther Qualifications
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, ASU 842 (preferrable)
  • Knowledge of Accounting for Leases
  • Knowledge of General Ledger complete accounting cycle, accounting entries, analysis of subsidiaries, assist in the preparation of financial and related reports.
  • Analytical ability to evaluate financial information.
  • Able to integrate and apply accounting knowledge to the analysis of operational and financial processes.
  • Able to prioritize, anticipate situations, identify problems, analyze their causes and resolve them in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and delivery dates, focused on achieving results through collaboration and teamwork.
  • Able to lead and adapt to changes, learn new tasks and be able to work under pressure.
  • Customer Centric: skills to maintain good relationships with clients, anticipate their needs, present alternatives to solve situations.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish, both oral and written.
  • Systems Proficient. Skills in MS Windows (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point). SAP, S4H, etc.
