Statutory Accountant

1. Coordinate, prepare, provide, and monitor the statutory requirements per the list of information from the external auditors and the Tax COE team (for the primary and secondary tax filings) and respond directly to them any additional inquiries.
2. Assist the Statutory Accounting Lead with: a) the preparation of the disclosures of the statutory financial statements, b) the preparation of the income tax provision for the PR commercial entity, c) the preparation of the monthly Sales and Use Tax computation for the PR commercial entity and d) the preparation of the Volume of Business Declaration and Corporate Annual Report for the PR commercial entity.
3. Prepare the Balance Sheet reconciliations for statutory GL accounts, including the related monthly adjustments.
4. Manage ad hoc requests, including but not limited to the completion of the PR government statutory questionnaires, the preparation of the Plan for the statutory accounts, the update of the PR statutory process manuals, among others.Qualifications
Education, Qualifications and Experience Requirements (degree, certifications, etc.):
Main Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting
2. Fully bilingual (Spanish and English)
3. Intermediate to advanced experience in MS Office products (Excel, Word, Power Point)
4. Minimum of 4 years of accounting experienceMain Skills:
1. Attention to detail and to follow instructions.
2. Work independently.
3. Effective communication skills (both in writing and verbally) in Spanish and English
4. Ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time and comply with tight deadlines.
5. Strong customer service, and ability to interact with multiple stakeholders (from various levels) at the same time.
