If your answer is yes, FirstBank is the number one place for you.A Brief OverviewThe Corporate Reporting Specialist is responsible to assist in the preparation of financial reports required by regulatory agencies on a quarterly basis based on guidelines established by such agencies (SEC, Federal Reserve, FDIC, OCIF). The Specialist is responsible for the coordination of tasks necessary for the collection of information and completion of monthly reports to the Board of Directors and should address questions of auditors and analysts on their examinations. The Specialist also assists the Unit Supervisors and Management in special jobs as required.What you'll do· Assist in the preparation and submission of financial statements and other reports required by regulatory agencies, including specific sections of reports required by the Securities and Exchange Commission (Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 11-K), the Federal Reserve, the FDIC, and OCIF. This includes, but is not limited to, the drafting of the Management's Discussion and Analysis of Financial Condition and Results of Operations discussions and notes to the financial statements. Perform variance analyses of net interest income, non-interest income and non-interest expenses. Responsible for the review of related analyses performed by a Corporate Reporting Analyst.· Assist in the design, implementation and update of procedures and methodologies that the Corporate Reporting Analyst should follow for the compilation of financial information necessary to complete financial statements disclosures and regulatory reports.· Assist in the analysis of new accounting pronouncements and regulatory reporting guidelines in order to determine the appropriate presentation of financial figures in the assigned reports, as well as in research and documentation of accounting researches.· Identify and explain significant monthly variances in the financial statements (actual and budget figures) for inclusion in monthly reports to the Board of Directors.· Assist external and internal auditors on interim and annual reviews.· Oversees the documentation of tasks performed by the Corporate Reporting Analyst in order to comply with internal documentation policies and oversees compliance with internal controls.· Evaluates and takes decision about materiality levels with respect to assigned reports.· Updates to flowcharts or narratives related to internal controls.· Assists management in general accounting and financial reporting duties as requested, including the preparation of special reports.· Assists in the preparation of presentations to management, analysts and regulatory agencies.· Trains the new Corporate Reporting Analysts in the department.Competencies· Outstanding analytical skills· Proficient on excel spreadsheets and power point presentations· Write, speak and comprehend English and Spanish· Capable of working under pressure· Committed to accuracy· Excellent communication skillsWhat You'll Need to Succeed:A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required for this position. Prior experience in the banking or financial services industry is preferred but not mandatory, with exposure to financial statements and management report preparation considered a plus.
