- Conduct governance activities, including site management reviews, operations management reviews, and support for quality audits (internal and external).
- Ensure compliance with budgetary requirements by managing budget allocations and expenditures related to asset management activities.
- Facilitate bi-weekly program status update meetings to review progress, address issues, and align strategies with key stakeholders.
- Develop and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of laboratory asset management processes.
- Optimize service entitlements to maximize the value of service contracts and warranties for laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Manage documentation routing processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Oversee the processing of adds/changes/deactivations for laboratory assets, coordinating with relevant stakeholders as necessary.
- Escort contractors as needed for onsite activities related to asset management and maintenance.
- Coordinate warranty and service contracts management, including renewal and negotiation activities.
- Ensure appropriate labeling of assets and maintain accurate records of asset inventory.
- Implement and oversee preventive maintenance/calibration programs for laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Manage the lifecycle of assets, including onboarding and offboarding technologies in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for work management processes, with proficiency in SAP CRM, Blue Mountain RAM, Maximo or ProCal preferred.
- Coordinate periodic business review meetings with key stakeholders to discuss asset management strategies, address concerns, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences (Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, etc.) or Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Business Administration) required.
- Minimum of 5 years of laboratory experience, with a strong understanding of laboratory operations and asset management principles.
- Experience in asset lifecycle management, including onboarding and offboarding technologies, preferred.
- Proficiency in using CMMS systems, with familiarity with SAP CRM, Blue Mountain RAM, Maximo or ProCal considered an asset.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel, for data analysis and reporting purposes.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and compliance in laboratory asset management practices.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate equipment's, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, talk, or hear; sit; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and smell. The employee may lift and/or move up to 25-35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- He / she may frequently work inside weather conditions, near moving mechanical parts, exposed to wet and or humid conditions, and an odorous atmosphere, may be exposed to fumes and the risk of electrical shock, and occasionally work on ladders in high places, in small spaces, such as lift/metering stations, manholes, tanks and wet wells. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud.
